Vanitha Inthirathvongsy, 42, passed away at his home in Deltona, Florida in the presence of his family on August 21, 2021. He was born on November 16, 1978 in Laos to Sitha and Chanh (deceased) Inthirathvongsy. The youngest of six children, he was the heartbeat of our family. Despite a myriad of health issues early on in his life, he never stopped smiling. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was always up for an adventure, even if it was just a trip up to Publix.
He is survived by his father, Sitha Inthirathvongsy, and his siblings Souvanhmaly (Laos) Phetmany (Deltona), Phothong (California), Po (Orlando), and Rattana (Atlanta).
“Vani” or “Oot” as he was known to his family and friends, had a sweet and caring demeanor. His smile lit up the room and he always had a hug or high five for anyone who wanted one. His innocence and loving soul were a blessing to the world. He lived life with wide-eyed wonder and loved the people that were closest to him. He absolutely adored his numerous nieces and nephews.
Vani loved sports, especially basketball. His favorite team was the Orlando Magic. He looked forward to trips to the bowing alley with family, fishing with his nephews, and trips to practice his golf swing.
While attending Boston Avenue School in Deland, Vani was active in Special Olympics. He also played multiple instruments including the trombone and the drums. With all of these talents, he was happiest just being at home, playing video games or cards with his dad and other family members.
Our family is devastated at his sudden passing. Our peace and comfort come with knowing that he was loved on Earth and the impact he had on those that knew him. He is now watching over the family with our mom. We love you little brother.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Special Olympics or the National Kidney Foundation.
A traditional Lao memorial service will take place at Wat Navarram in Sanford at a later date.
