Thomas Lee Kelly
September 4, 1949 – July 19, 2020
Thomas Lee Kelly (Tom), age 70 of Orlando, passed away July 19, 2020, in Orlando Health Central Hospital, Ocoee, Florida of heatstroke and complications of high-blood pressure. Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine (Bobich) Kelly, father, Fred Kelly, and step-mother, Ceil (Imer) Kelly. He is survived by his sisters, Pat Chatfield (Jacksonville, FL), Kathryn Szewc (Grants Pass, OR), and brothers, Fred Kelly (Clawson, MI) and Jim Kelly (Deland, FL), 11 nieces and nephews, and numerous grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins. Tom was born in Ohio Valley General Hospital, Wheeling, West Virginia on September 4, 1949. He was the baby brother his siblings were happy that Mom brought home for them. He grew up in his hometown, West Alexander, PA and lived in Highland Park, MI before moving to Florida in the 1980s.
Tom was a unique person who lived a simple, uncomplicated life enjoying his job, Saturday morning cartoons, and western cowboy movies he checked out from the library. He never missed a family gathering: holidays, birthdays, graduations, or picnics where there was good food, and lots of love. On his weekends, he rode his bicycle all over Orlando knowing all the places around town to have a good meal. His employer, H&H Products Company and co-workers, loved Tom and the feeling was mutual. Following is a quote from his fellow co-workers that says it all.
“We are sad to announce the passing of our employee, Tom Kelly, employed with H&H Products for over 30 years. Tom was more than an employee, he was family. Tom could be stubborn and set in his ways, but he also had the biggest heart. He loved simple things like telling jokes, his truck, country music, American Ninja Warrior and of course frozen York Peppermint Patties. We were blessed to have shared so many years together. We will miss you buddy!”
The family has chosen cremation. Interment will be at Pine Level Cemetery in Oxford, Florida, later in the Fall, next to his Mom.
In lieu of flowers, H&H Products suggests considering a donation to Fellowship of Christian Athletes, 8701 Maitland Summit Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32810, 407-644-8292 (www.orangecountyfca.org) or any charity of your choice.
