SSG Ret Pedro Angel Jimenez Gonzalez

April 05, 1958 ~ May 08, 2021

SSG Ret Pedro Angel Jimenez Gonzalez, 63, passed away peacefully in Port Orange, Florida on Saturday, May 8, 2021. He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Pedro served in the U.S. Army 10 years as active duty Armor Crewman, separated in 1990, and became an interstate truck driver. In 2003, he joined the Army Reserves and he was ordered to Active Duty in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as Combat Engineer with the B Co 841st Engineer Battalion. Later in 2012, he served as a truck driver with the 196 Transportation Company (TC) and then the 993rd TC serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

There are so many great things to say about this amazingly simple man, but most importantly, he was loved and admired by all who knew him. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, son, grandfather, friend, leader and mentor who loved his family, music and playing the congas.
He is survived by his wife Yoana, his stepdaughters Genesis and Yara, his stepson Ovianny, his sons and daughter: Pedro, David, and Sheyla, grandchildren, Christian, Angel, Isa, David, Sebastian, Noah, Priscila, Annalise, Adrian and Alexander, and his siblings Wanda, Laura, and Edwin.

His ashes will be buried with Military Honors in the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on 20 May 2021 at 9:30am. Unfortunately, with COVID-19, the cemetery placed a restriction of 50 attendees.

Pedro will always be loved and never forgotten.

My deepest condolences to you dear friend. I’m here if you need someone to talk to. The loss of a partner is hard to bear cause I’ve been there. Please remember you have friends who are here for you. Take care.

A mi papá.
