On Saturday May 29th, 2021 Sammie David Gray, Jr., known to most as “Sam”, loving and devoted father, passed away at the age of 53. Sam was born October 25, 1967 to the late Mr. Sammie Gray Sr. and the late Delores Davis Sloan in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Sam was blessed with two amazing children Jasmine Gray of Tallahassee, FL and Gabriel Bridges whom he raised as a single father. He was a benevolent spirit of love and compassion and sacrificed all he could for his children.

In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball, tennis, and fishing. He also enjoyed listening to reggae music and spending as much time with his children as possible. He made a friend in many with his charming smile and easy going spirit.

Sam was baptized and accepted the lord as his Savior and Jesus Christ on May 8th, 2021.

He is preceded in death by his father Sammie Gray Sr. and mother Delores Davis Sloan. He is survived by his two children, Jasmine Gray and Gabriel Bridges, six brothers, Brandon Gray, Anthony Gray, Reginald Gray, Daryl Gray, Roderick Gilmore and Feron Gilmore Sr. (Coretta) two sisters Betty Townsel-Stultz (Robert) and Sandra Brown.

Also left to cherish his memory are his aunts and uncles William “Bill” Davis, Leonard Davis (Princess), Sharon Davis-Drummond (Leaford), Krisita Davis-Edwards (Willie), Robert Davis, Anthony “Tony” Davis, Michael Davis (Genetta), and Velda Davis-Arnold, a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends Steven and Melissa Siegfried.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 9:00am at Christ the King Community Church property located at 6015 Spruce Creek Road, Port Orange, FL.
Please bring your own chair.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his son Gabe’s GoFundMe for his immediate well-being as he prepares for his future.
