Michael passed from this earth after a brief illness May 22, 2020 in Daytona Beach, Florida. Mike was born December 26, 1954, three months premature weighing 1 lb, 10 oz in Albion, Michigan to Lorraine and Howard Osborne. He graduated from Michigan School for the Blind and later attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
Mike enjoyed bowling, beeper-ball, downhill skiing, and NASCAR. He was a fan of the Florida Gators and Michigan football. He also loved listening to music and chatting with friends on Facebook and Twitter.
After moving to Florida in 2003 to escape Michigan winters, he attended the First Baptist Church in Daytona Beach where he enjoyed singing in the choir, attending the men’s breakfasts, and studying the Bible. Mike will always be remembered for his kindness and his ability to see the goodness in everything in life. While Mike was not able to use his eyes in his lifetime, through the gift of tissue donation, Mike’s corneas enabled a recipient to enjoy the gift of sight.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by sisters; Lucinda Osborne (Fred Wessels), Michele Wilson (Harry), Janine Osborne (Rob Collier) and brothers; Reed Osborne (Tammi England), Brian Osborne, and John Osborne (Jean). Mike is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and special friends Pam Brown and Monte Zerbe.
In honor of Mike, the family requests that you consider registering to become an organ and tissue donor.
A private service of interment will be held October 17, 2020 at Highland Cemetery in Brooklyn, Michigan. Due to COVID-19, the celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a future date, when it is safe to gather.
