Classrooms, football fields, the deck of iron ore freighters, two bit taverns, and facebook, my friend for 58 years. We tried it all. I’ll miss you Danny Boy, until we meet again, see you on the other side.

Dan lived on the next street south of ours. He was older than I, but one of the guys my older brother hung out with. I hooked up with him in later years when hecwas going to college. He still treated me as the friend I knew several years prior.
I offer prayers for his family and as I built a home next to my family house, every time I will walk past his old home, I will say an additional prayer.
Bless you, Dan. A good friend you were.

I was very sad to learn of Dan’s passing. I always felt a kinship as we both left Sault High only to find ourselves married a short time later.
Thinking of Dan, as I remember him, brings the word “cool” to mind. I thought before I use the term too much, I should look it up. I found it can be used for “all right, excellent, fashionable, and hip. That matches my memory. The other interesting fact is that the term began to be used in early black music- blues and jazz. I recall Dan staying with us for awhile in Muskegon and raving about Aretha Franklin who I had barely heard of.
Dan was an original and after all these years I can still see him clearly.

What a shocker! Not Danny…….He was the best doorman @ #11 and the baddest M-fer, but a real sweetheart! We had not kept in touch since he retired from the DPD and moved to FL., but we thought of and spoke of him often. We also did not know that Patty had passed.
Our sincerest condolences to his remaining family. Our prayers are with you.
Danny and Patty are together again in God’s loving arms.

Dan was not in any of my classes in school but he would always acknowledge me in the hallways. I thought he was so hip. I left the Soo right after graduation and never connected with him until Facebook. Will miss his harassment of Soo Township and the fact that he couldn’t believe I didn’t like the Beatles. Wish I had his music knowledge. Missing your political views. I know you are happy with Patti. I don’t believe you are gone.
