Robby, Susie, Becky. You have my deepest sympathies. I started babysitting for you guys when I was 10 years old until I got married at 18. Thank you Susie for being my flower girl. Carol was a good friend and confidant during those years. Your mom was a wonderful woman whom I admired very much. She was there for me when I lost my sister in a car accident and for so many moments when I needed someone other than my immediate family. I knew Carol as a strong Christian woman with a beautiful heart. Her story tells me she continued to be that person to so many people throughout her life. Thank you for sharing the rest of her story.

I have only a few fleeting memories of Aunt Carol(lyn), when we visited Michigan when Great-grandpa Robbins died in August 1972 (I was 5), and again in 1979 when we came for Christmas. In 1972, I remember “swimming” in the pool in the backyard at the house on River Street in Coopersville, Aunt Carol holding Susan as baby, and grabbing me when I accidentally went down the slide into the pool over my head in water! I was so glad she was there to “rescue” me because the whole incident scared me silly!

I’m so sorry for your loss and pray you may be comforted with many precious memories. Hugs to all of you, cousins.
